1) I hate to sew.
2) I hate measuring.
3) I love shortcuts.
4) Thank you Nester.
The window in my guest bedroom has been bare for too long. After poring over The Nesting Place and her window mistreatment how-to's, I felt confident that I could do it myself.
So off we (Jonas and me) go to Jo-Ann's this morning on a hunt for the perfect fabric. Mr. Uncooperative started screaming and throwing things out of the cart, so I grabbed the fabric and ran, hoping it would match my room. I did pay first.
So here's the window: (it's in the basement)

Here's the fabric, and some upholstery tacks (or decorative nails, as the packages describes them):

I bought 2 yards of fabric. I folded it lengthwise, and then lengthwise again. Next I tacked it up on either side of the window. It looks pretty bad here. But just wait.

Then you grab the middle, and tack it again. Then grab the middle, and tack it again. And again, and again. Until you get pleats. You can do it as many times as you want. I did a horrible job explaining that. So you should just go over to The Nesting Place and let her teach you.
I love it!! I love that there are no rods, no hammers, no measuring and no cutting. No ironing either!! Now I just need to find some artwork for these walls.
