Quality time with the middle child

When Sophia started preschool in the fall, I had visions of all the fun things I could do one-on-one with Eva during the three days Sophia isn't home. Since she is now officially a "middle child," I always worry that she doesn't get enough time with me.

Between Bible study, grocery shopping, playdates, and traveling, today was the first day we were home together for the entire morning!

So, we started off with painting.
And then a craft. Thank you Amy for this awesome website: http://www.notimeforflashcards.com/ - that is where I got the idea for this craft!

First we sorted our paper into 3 piles. She surprisingly was able to do this!

Then glue them on.

And voila - a candy corn!

This also game me opportunity to observe my secondborn in a structured-type activity, which reinforced how different she is from my firstborn.
1. She has a very short attention span.
2. She can be bribed, in which case her attention span magically lenthens.
3. She is, by no means, a perfectionist.
4. She is a complete and total goofball.
