Birthday Fun

I was up at my mom's the weekend before my birthday and Andrew was away too, but when I got home, these were on the counter. The dusty rose ones are called chocolate (also sometimes champagne) roses and are the ones we had in our wedding!

Then later that evening he spent 2 hours making this. He wouldn't let me look until it was all done. Tell me that this is not an amazing cake for a man!! Don't worry, the next 2 hours were spent watching a football game (I guess to regain some of his manhood???) :)

The girls arranged my candles. We had our own little celebration together on Monday evening.

On my actual birthday I got together with some good friends and their kids at the park. Sorry the picture isn't the best - a 4 year old took it!! I think he actually did a pretty good job!

On the weekend, Andrew took me on a date to Cafe Isis - our favorite restaurant when we lived in Reisterstown. You need to go there and get the Combination Platter - A lively combination of falafel, hummus, foul, Babaganush, stuffed grape leaves, tomato feta cheese salad, tahina and house salad. Served with two pita bread.

Then it was off to shopping! He's such a good sport - his gift to me was that he'd push the shopping cart while I shopped for all the stuff I've been meaning to get but either 1) haven't had time for or 2) haven't attempted with two impatient little girls. I ended up buying some things for Eva's big girl room and some stuff for the house. Oh, and some trouser socks for me (try explaining what a trouser sock is to a man).

On Saturday we went to my in-laws house for buffalo steaks! My father-in-law has been promising this meal for months! They also served cocktail shrimp, corn on the cob, asparagus, and mashed potatoes. A delicious meal and a fun evening!!
