Proud Mama Moment

***Blogger wouldn't let me put the video at the beginning of the post for some reason - so frustrating! Does anyone else run into problems with the placement of photos and videos? I wish they would just let you cut and paste them!! So the video is at the bottom. ***

I do realize I am biased, but is he not the cutest thing you've ever seen???

Jonas is 8 weeks old today! Hard to believe that much time has gone by already, yet in another sense, it feels like ages since we were in the hospital, ready to meet our son. He has added so much joy to our family, more than I thought was possible. I just love having a little boy!

He is very aware now - loves to study our faces, cranes his neck to see who's talking to him, and smiles in response to us. It's really funny to watch him try to "talk" to us. It's like he knows what he wants to do and it takes all his energy to try to figure out how to do it.

We think he weighs about 12 lbs now (according to our home scale) and he is finally starting to fill out all his adorable 0-3 month clothes. He's sleeping well still and when he's not, he is usually very content to just sit and hang out. He's an amazingly easy baby - Andrew and I keep pinching ourselves to make sure this is real! :)

People keep asking me if it was harder to transition to having 3. In some ways, yes, in most ways, no. It's harder to stay organized, and it's definitely harder to get out of the house. I have to make sure I time nursing exactly right - so that I can pick up Sophia from preschool, have an hour and a half to go grocery shopping, and all the other millions of tasks that fill my days. But in so many other ways it is easier because he is easy. He's a "go with the flow" type baby. Both girls had reflux, didn't sleep until 7 months old, cried a lot, wanted to be held all the time. He's just so different and we do realize how blessed we are!

The older he gets the more special having a boy will be! Enjoy it and soak everything in!

I am SO happy he is a go-with-the-flow baby! I'm also glad you talked about how the transition to three kids has gone. I've been really interested in that too, so now I don't have to ask you. :) That's really wonderful he's doing so well. God must have known that after a firecracker like Eva, you needed a little bit of a more mellow baby! I do love having a son. You will probably notice as he gets older (if you haven't already) that he is SO different from your girls. Mikey is like night and day from Holly. It's not just a personality thing, it's a BOY thing. Sometimes I look at Mikey and I just can't believe we really have him in our family. (Other times I wish we were just babysitting him, but that's another story!)

Love it!

Hey Katie - Blogger did that to me yesterday with pictures. Never had a problem before!

I hear your pain with the whole potty training thing...a couple of times, Mikey wanted to sit on his potty, but I was in the middle of something and couldn't supervise him, and told him, "Just go in your diaper, honey!" Poor kid. At this rate, he'll never learn. Maybe he and Eva can start some kind of support group for people who never learned to go potty in the toilet...

I love the baby talk...isn't it great that we can capture moments like these and always look back to remember?! Our precious babies grow up too fast!
