Tree Shopping!

Instead of Black Friday shopping this year, we went tree shopping the day after Thanksgiving. It was a pretty mild day and we tried out a new tree farm.
The girls loved running and hiding and hopping through the rows and rows of trees!

Typical Eva

You know how you picture the tree decorating to be? Christmas carols playing softly in the background, lights dimmed, pulling out old ornaments and recalling their sentimental value, spending quality time together as a family....yah...that's how it goes in my head but not in real life. Eva managed to break two ornaments - one being glass - putting a halt on the decorating to pull out the wet/dry vac. Eva managed to spill the bowl of popcorn not once, but twice, scattering popcorn and kernels all over the floor - hence the wet/dry vac returns to the scene. Not to mention Eva trying to eat the ornaments. Oh well - at least we can say it's a memory!

Those will be the special memories your girls remember! Our tree decorating hasn't been the same since Josh was born! We still have fun...just in a different way! Thanks for your sweet comment on my blog!

Katie, thanks so much for your comment on my "racism" post. I left you a response, but am posting it here too as you probably check the comment section again. Here's what I wrote: "Katie -- Thank you so much! I too have so enjoyed getting to know you and can't believe I almost missed that wonderful opportunity. :) God knew that we would all thrive at LifePoint and you are a big part of that as a friend as as a MOPS small group leader."

Also, I laughed so hard at your tree decorating experience. Ours was the SAME way! Mikey broke and ornament, and almost broke more because he kept pulling them out of the box I had them in, and pulling off the tissue paper that carefully protected them. Then Holly put them all about her height and lower, so we had a bald upper part. I had to pick her up and help her get some in the high places. It was kind of exhausting, to be honest, but the kids love the tree. Now I'm just trying to get Mikey to stop pulling all the ornaments off the tree!
