It's funny - if you'd told me years ago that I would be a "scrapbooker" I would've laughed. I'm not exactly a "crafty" gal. I switched my major in college from elementary ed to secondary ed because I hated the idea of spending hours cutting out little construction paper doo-dads. (And go figure - I graduated and got a job as an elementary school teacher).
When I was pregnant with Sophia a dear friend gave me a present - it was a box filled with stickers and beautiful paper and borders and ... a scrapbook. I had mentioned to her that maybe I might try to make a scrapbook for my baby's first year. Well, now I had all the supplies - no more excuses.
Somewhere along the way I fell in love with it. I look forward to it. I spread all my stuff out on the dining room table and for weeks at a time I steal moments while the girls are sleeping or busy playing to look through my pictures, arrange layouts, choose coordinating papers. It's so funny to me when people tell me, "I don't know how you have time for that." I don't. I make time because it is something I truly enjoy doing.
So here are a few reasons (not that I need them) for why I scrapbook:
-I am creative but not artististic - this gives me an outlet for that.
-I am ridiculously sentimental.
-I enjoy capturing memories through pictures.
-Sophia and Eva both love looking through the scrapbooks.
-It's relaxing to me.
-It gives me time with good friends.
