I am so excited about this I just wanted to share with all of you! (Well, all the two of you who read this!) :)
Andrew and I recently made a Jesse Tree. A Jesse Tree is a way to count down the days to Christmas. Each day there is an ornament that symbolizes part of Christ's lineage. For example, the world ornament stands for God creating the world. Each day you read a portion of scripture that corresponds with the ornament and then place the ornament on the tree. We did two yesterday and two today (trying to play catch up since I just finished this yesterday!). I also don't have all the ornaments completed yet but they will get done! This website has a list of the scriptures and symbols for each day. http://www.cresourcei.org/jesse.html

I love this - I had heard of these (and subsequently forgotten about them) Thanks for the reminder! By the way, I noticed your fridge in the picture - I'm shopping for a new fridge and that looks just like the one I am looking at...is it a Maytag? Do you like it? Opinions please!!! :) Kristin
Katie, I love your Jesse Tree. It is lovely way to incorporate the true spirit of Christmas into your lives. Your girls are really blessed to have a mom who thinks of such neat ideas! Rose :)

You caught me...I read your blog too and really enjoy seeing what the girls are up to since mine are across town doing the same thing--although not with allspice! Good to see you this morning.
